Operations Gate Inspections Inspections view Inspection form

The Inspection form enables a gate inspection clerk to record an inspection before a truck reaches the ingate. N4 auto-populates the inspection data in the gate forms when the gate clerk processes the specified equipment. When a clerk successfully processes a gate transaction with an inspection, N4 applies the inspection details to the specified equipment. Navis N4 Mobile Gate Inspection populates oversize dimensions using these details if available.

When you include the ApplyInspectionOOG (on page 1) business task for a gate transaction type, details entered into N4 Mobile during gate inspection overwrite the details previously entered in this form.

To record an inspection:

  1. In the Equipment ID field, enter the ID of the equipment you are inspecting.

  1. Enter additional information, such as equipment type, seal numbers, equipment grade, temperature observed, out-of-gauge measurement, and damages as part of the inspection.

  2. Click Save.

N4 uses the information entered in the Inspection form to update the data in the gate forms when a gate clerk records a gate transaction for the truck visit.

N4 updates the Equipment Grade for a unit from the gate inspection data after the gate transaction is completed. If the gate transaction is in the Trouble status, N4 does not update the Equipment Grade for the unit even though the Equipment Grade is specified in the gate transaction.

In addition, you can use the Inspection form to add damages (on page 1), hazard placards (on page 1), or bundle equipment (on page 1) with the specified equipment.
